Parents' Comments

academic enrichment learningAlphaAbacus is an excellent environment for those children, such as my son, who need a quiet environment in which to work.
- Parent of a fifth-grade student with ADHD

Miss Rachel taught my dyslexic son how to write. He even won a writing competition after working with her.
- Parent of a seventh-grade student

Although my daughters are twins, they have different learning styles. So, Miss Rachel used two different phonics programs to help them learn to read.
- Parent of second-grade students

You changed B's life: she is top of her class in reading.
- Parent of a third-grade student

Thank you for being such an amazing and inspirational teacher, mentor, and friend.
- Parent of sixth and twelfth-grade homeschooled students

I want you to know that T. was super-smiley after she came out of your session.
- Parent of a ninth-grade student

You taught my son to read in three short months. I feel like I never have to worry about him again. He is so confident in his reading that he volunteers to read in front of the class. Tonight, he will read a long passage for the school production.
- Parent of a second-grade student

Thank you so much for all your efforts and good work with our son. You are a special teacher, and we appreciate you.
- Parents of a seventh-grade student

My children are always so well behaved and eager to learn with you. I don't know how you bring it out in them!
- Parent of fifth and ninth-grade students

Miss Rachel does all those extra things that show her dedication to her students. She assigns homework to support the work that my son is learning with her. She loans books from her lending library, orders books from the local library for my son's research report, writes emails to my son's teachers, checks his grades online, prints out his school homework, regularly helps my son "purge" his binder and backpack, and stay on top of his studies. He made honor roll for the first time ever this semester.
- Parent of an eighth-grade student

My son is now enrolled in Honors English and Honors History thanks to you! He never before talked about college, and now he wants to attend tutoring this summer so that he will be successful in high school.
- Parent of an eighth-grade student

AlphaAbacus is a comfortable and welcoming place. There is a waiting room with reading materials and educational toys where parents and students can sit. Many of the students know each other, and those that don't are introduced to each other by Miss Rachel. She has so many different teaching materials, reference books, fiction, and leveled books, and she lets the students borrow them.
- Parent of a third-grade student

N. is really looking forward to publishing her book that she is writing with you!
- Parent of fifth-grade student

S. went from reading at pre-primer level to second grade level in 70 lessons. Amazing! When he got an A on his report card, he said that Miss Rachel should be thanked for she taught him how to read.
